I guide my teams on harnessing our wealth of data and research, to identify if adjustments to our initiatives are needed, or even a complete pivot.

We proved this agility in Korea, pivoting our roadmap mid quarter after a disastrous start. This decisive manoeuvre was the catalyst for an amazing quarter on quarter turn around, increasing GMV by 127.26%. Ultimately saving the business, giving us more time to further improve the product.

Reducing e-waste through Refurbished devices.

Back Market is on a mission to combat global e-waste. With operations in over 16 countries, I serve as the Head of Product for the APAC region. My role is to lead the Product team in championing our mission and ensuring that purchasing refurbished devices is not only safe but also reliable.

During my tenure at Back Market, I have spearheaded the successful launches in Japan, South Korea, and Australia. This involved crafting the go-to-market strategy and overseeing its execution to ensure timely delivery. In collaboration with key stakeholders, my team and I continually identify challenges and devise strategic solutions. After validating our roadmaps, I conduct periodic pulse checks throughout each quarter to monitor our progress and adjust if necessary.

PayPay.

Boasting over 60 million users, PayPay is widely regarded as Japan's premier mobile payments platform. More than just an app, PayPay has been a driving force behind the adoption of digital payments, playing a pivotal role in realizing Japan's vision of a cashless society.

While at PayPay, I had the privilege of leading the 'PayPay for Business' team. My role encompassed spearheading multiple initiatives to empower small business owners and magnify their presence.

A redesign to modern design standards, and UX overhaul of the mobile app resulted in a significant 20% YoY growth in MAU. Introducing innovative features, such as Dynamic QR codes and platform unification, we observed a consistent monthly growth in transactions by 4%.

Beyond Product Management, I implemented process improvment, and championed Human-centric Design principles.

While I don't wear the badge of a certified SCRUM master, my grasp of its principles is enough to optimize team synergy. For the PayPay for Business teams, I implemented daily and weekly rituals. Moreover, I provided guidance on how to manage their JIRA boards and tasks efficiently.

Retrospective sessions were encouragingly positive. Team members across units gained clarity on roles and responsibilities, and our weekly practices ensured everyone was in the loop about current happenings and forthcoming plans.

As a Product Manager, heavily influenced by my UX upbringing. I was the catalyst for highlighting the benefits of user-centric Discovery processes to a more traditional business team. Convincing them on the importance, we started a huge transveral project to identify opportunities and pain points for our PayPay for Business users.

While many gauge success by the metrics of specific KPIs, I derive immense satisfaction from fostering operational efficiency and harmony among teams.
